Passion, Solutions, and Teamwork

I was born and raised in Cache Valley, Utah, a daughter of a farmer where I learned the value of an honest day's work, integrity, and the importance of never giving up when there's a job to be done. I'm a mother of four, have three amazing daughter-in-laws, one son-in-law, and am a grandma of six which is by far my favorite hobby.

My degree is in Business Science and comes with over 34 years of expertise in business management including sales, accounting, order processing, inventory control, domestic and international customer relations, government contracting, marketing, QMS for ISO-9001:2015, internal auditing, and production.

One of my passions is music; singing, dancing, performing arts, and musical instruments.  I also enjoy the outdoors; hiking, camping, landscaping, and sports.  I am a proud owner of an unreliable Saab classic convertible and keeps life exciting with every trip it takes.  It keeps me brave and tad daring so long as I can still walk from wherever it dies and I have cell service.

Safety and the well-being of others has always been of great concern to me, so when the development of the barricade device was conceived, it was something I could easily get on board with and support.  It's empowering to know there is an absolute way to protect those we love from eminent dangers as well as from unknown elements that threaten our society. This gives a tremendous sense of confidence in this accomplishment knowing we are truly making a difference.

Penny Karren, CEO

I was an army brat, born in Texas and moved around a lot until settling down in Cache Valley, Utah 25 years ago with my wife and 2 boys.

I was educated as an Air-frame and Power-plant mechanic and later continued my education as a Mechanical Engineer, including a science degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics. While in school i worked as and electrician, a skill that I still regularly use in personal projects this has aided in making my designs more user friendly.  I found a love of computers and electronics when i got my first computer in 1980, a ZX80.  I quickly started learning programing and worked as a programmer/teacher starting in 1983 and later moved onto the more mechanical side of design. Recently I've found that the root of coding has not changed much as I've been rediscovering computer programming.

I spend most of my free time working on unforgiving and unreliable British cars, and designing and building experimental aircraft.  It keeps my mind and my troubleshooting skills sharp. Some would call it too much work, but seeing the challenges overcome is always worth it.  In the late 80's, I turned my daily transportation of cycling into a competitive sport and raced for many years before making different life choices that turned my racing career into a recreational sport.

With more than a dozen inventions over the last 25 years, some designs have proven to be very useful while others have out lived there need. As with all inventions, they're driven and usually conceived by a growing need.

Help me create solutions for you.
